Bedrock Basketball - Osgoode-Rideau Basketball Association

Who We Are

The Osgoode-Rideau Basketball Association (ORBA) has been in existence for fifteen years. ORBA, best known as Bedrock, was founded by current club President, Doug Stuewe. In the beginning, Bedrock was a "girls-only" organization serving twelve young ladies. Today, the Bedrock club boasts more than 180 young athletes made up of both girls and boys.

Our recreational program and league serves players aged 5-13 years while our competitive league has both boys' and girls' teams at the Novice, Atom, Bantam, Midget and Juvenile levels. (For further information, please access our "Facts and FAQs" page.)

In addition, Bedrock is proud of its team of quality volunteer coaches and parents who enthusiastically serve our club athletes. Since the inception of the club, Bedrock has also enjoyed a successful relationship with Carleton Ravens basketball club and head coach, Dave Smart. Bedrock runs competitive basketball summer camps in collaboration with the Carleton Ravens, utilizing the skill and expertise of these outstanding university athletes as role models and coaches for our own young athletes.

Bedrock operates on the fundamental pillars of good sportsmanship, team spirit, and respect. Bedrock is a member of the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) and requires that all parents, coaches, and players model behaviour in accord with OBA principles.
